What DELMORIVA pieces are made of — 18K gold-plated 316L stainless steel and saddle-brown leather — and how to look after them.
Metal pieces
Rings, bangles, chain bracelets, earrings and necklaces are 18K gold-plated 316L stainless steel. 316L is a stainless steel alloy used widely for jewellery and watches. The gold-plated finish is a thin layer over the steel: the pieces are plated, not solid gold.
- Plating wears over time, faster where a piece rubs. How fast depends on how often and how you wear it.
- Take pieces off before swimming, showering, the gym, cleaning and sleeping.
- Keep them away from perfume, hairspray, lotion, chlorine and salt water. Put jewellery on last, after perfume has dried.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Do not use jewellery dips, abrasive cloths or ultrasonic cleaners.
- Store each piece on its own — in a pouch or one of our leather rolls — so pieces do not scratch each other.
- Moving parts (tongues, rings, snap-hook gates) are small: move them gently with your fingers, not your nails or a tool.
Stainless steel contains nickel as part of the alloy. We do not describe our jewellery as hypoallergenic or nickel-free. If you have a known metal allergy, please check before buying.
Leather pieces
Cord and strap bracelets, jewellery rolls and envelopes are leather in one saddle brown, with gold-tone buckles and fittings.
- Keep leather dry. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun.
- Keep perfume, oils and lotion off the leather; they darken it in patches.
- Leather softens and darkens a little with wear and handling. Small differences in grain and colour are part of the material.
- Wipe buckles and fittings with a soft dry cloth.
Products shown in photos
Photos show the pieces as closely as we can, but colours vary slightly between screens. Other items shown in a photo — clothes, saddlery, other jewellery — are not included unless the product page says so.
